Hi, we're thinking of relocating to Worksop from the South East to be close to family. Is it a nice town? Schools aren't an issue anymore.

Thank you

Avoid Worksop, it's a horrible place. Really run down with a high crime rate.
There's a reason why it's so cheap. The surrounding villages would be a better bet

I grew up in Worksop. It really isn't a very nice town. Really run down and bad drug problem. There are some nicer areas but the town centre is grim. I left as soon as I turned 18. My family still live there and I visit but it's not changed at all.

Where do your family live? What is your budget?

KievLoverTwo · 23/09/2023 21:17

No, it's horrible.

MadKittenWoman · 23/09/2023 21:26

Just no.

Honestly it's awful. Tickhill, and loversall are nice. Bawtry and Austerfield are ok. High melton and barnburgh are quite nice. But it's all basically Doncaster. Can you be further out,? The Peak District is much nice or Lincoln? Or the outskirts of Sheffield? Derbyshire?

Avoid at all costs.
