We currently have carpet in the dining room and we want to take it up and have quite a dark wood (or wood effect) herringbone pattern.

We think the floor is pretty level but of course who knows what the carpet is hiding.
I have learned I need to be careful of anything that has a surface sheen that makes it look less ‘wood-like.’
Where to begin? I’d love any tips. Is there some kind of warehouse that holds all these brands?
