Laundry room or WC?

What would you rather?

Space is limited, just over 3ft wide by 9ft long. Window at one end door at the other (on the 3ft walls)

It's the area above the stairs which we removed and moved elsewhere, on the 1st floor.

We currently have only 1 bathroom but have plans in the renovation plans for 2 more to be added. (Long term renovation 10 years probably!)

I like the idea of having an upstairs laundry room but wonder if a wc is more practical. I would like a shower in the wc too but it's just too narrow and it'd have to be a wetroom where you walk under the shower to get to the loo due to window/door location

So what would you go for?

Is there anyway you could put a loo in there and washing machine/tumble dryer stacked as well?

Guiltypleasures001 · 22/09/2023 18:15

I have both op loo sort of middle and washing machine and tumble dryer on top
I can go and do laundry at the same time Grin

If more than 2 people live in the house, second loo is more valuable. Unless you can fit both loo and washing machine in somehow.

I would go for both, in 9 ft you could put a toilet at one end and the washer/dryer stacked with a sink and surface or side by side with a sink and surface over.

Can you block the window.

Toilet for now, laundry room when you put the extra bathrooms in.

This.

A second toilet is highly valued in any house, and of course, incredibly useful to you when you live there.

Where would your washing machine and tumble dryer be if you don't put them here ?
Would that space - presumably currently downstairs - lend itself to a downstairs toilet ?

I think in that space you can fit a loo and a tiny sink at one end and stacked machines at the other.. and a laundry pulley thing on the ceiling..
