So an extended family member bought a house recently. They have a small family and are first time buyers. Apparently the mortgage agreement has been approved but they’re still in the last stages. They don’t know when they’ll be receiving keys or if and when they can move in. Is this normal? I’m just curious because I’m currently renting and most of my friends have bought homes and moved in within a month or two. I didn’t realise it takes that long. DP and I wanted to order something with the house exchange dates on it but we ended up just writing “2023” because we were worried it won’t come in time.
