Having our kitchen resprayed the doors are going back on on Friday. I need new handles.

I can't decide between bar handles with a back plate or without.

There's 16 cupboards and 3 drawers, I can't decide if it's too much with the back plates or not. Want modern, clean nothing fussy. Should I mix bottom cupboards with plate top just the bar?

Thank you

Without!

Without!

Hard without a pic - but my random view - without, and don’t mix. Fewer grub crevices and cleaner lines.

FallingAutumnLeaf · 20/09/2023 08:36

Pictures would help, but without is my instinct.

stickygotstuck · 20/09/2023 08:36

I agree that it's easier to keep clean without.

Taking from experience. Our old kitchen didn't have them, the new one does. I miss the old kitchen!

Finding pictures, thank you!

Something like this maybe, I can't even decide what colour. I am rubbish at this.

Or one of these. I need less choice!

Rounded without. The simplest and easiest to keep clean (and for me not to bang my knee on!)

FallingAutumnLeaf · 20/09/2023 10:05

I'd go for one of the ones in your 3rd picture - with multiple handles in one snapshot. They aren't the most fashionable, but won't date as much, are less prone to bruising you, ad easier to keep clean.

What other colours are in the kitchen?

Pfpppl · 20/09/2023 10:18

Of the ones you've posted I'd go with the third picture. Have a look at the Hafele Melbury bow handles on Screwfix - cheap, good quality and comfortable to use. The type in your first pictures are easy to catch yourself on.

HerculesMulligan · 20/09/2023 10:19

Think about what you're going to snag your dressing gown pockets on. I'd go for the third picture too.

WildFlowerBees · 20/09/2023 10:24

I hadn't given any thought to snagging myself, I'm already the person who gets herself caught on the handle leaving a room. Curved is better then, glad I asked!

Curved. And go for whichever colour matched other metal in the room - taps / appliances etc!

Whichwhich · 20/09/2023 11:22

Curved, colour to match kitchen sink taps.

:)
