Handyman or Electrician?

I need a cooker hood to be fitted onto the wall, with the hose/outlet bit to be put up through the ceiling/behind the wall and connected to the outlet for the current extractor fan. It looks like it'll need to be hardwired in, so can anyone advise as to whether a handyman type person could do all of this or whether it needs to be a qualified electrician? Ex used to deal with all of this sort of thing so feeling a bit overwhelmed!

I think you're best off contacting a handyman - he will probably have someone he can call on for the electrical works if needed. To my mind it sounds like it would be an easy job to attach to the existing circuit.

If there is an existing socket outlet or fused connection unit then a handyman could do it.

If a new outlet is needed with new wiring then I would call an electrician.
