I am trying to help a relative make their bungalow warmer and am a bit out of my depth!
It is a bungalow built on a hill- so has suspended floors with limited insulation- the undercroft varies from 50cm- 1.2m high and is very dark and cold!
She would like 'wood effect' (but waterproof) flooring instead of carpets. But laminate isn't waterproof and I assume she can't have karndean type vinyl flooring as you can't screed a suspended floor (or can you?). Would she be better with a good quality sheet vinyl floor and to insulate under? And if so with what, and how can we ensure the suspended floor doesn't get damp?
Any advice appreciated...thanks!
