4 bed detached house or 3 bed detached bungalow

Right I have posted another thread on potentially leaving our house purchase 6 weeks in for a bungalow that has just pooped up on market in a better location.

Bungalow: 3 double beds, modern conservatory with tiled roof, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and diner, double garage, private garden with tall trees at the end.
House: 4 bed with 2 box rooms, 3 toilet/baths, kitchen diner, old conservatory no insulation, double garage, private garden backing on other gardens/garages.

Both are same price. Are we mad to prefer the bungalow? We have never lived in one. Kids are 18 months, 11 and 13 year old.

I’d go for the bungalow, I prefer one floor living and the location sounds better.

Uhh my kids think spending time on their own in their rooms is punishment. They love to be around everyone downstairs.

They do now, come a couple of years and it will be all change

I wouldnt even consider a bungalow with younger children. It will be a nightmare. No.

Why?

Bungalow!!

Ahh great to hear all your views. Unfortunately some cash buyer has made an offer 15k more than us so bungalow is now out of question.

But it gave me food for thought perhaps if we ever move again.

This has a really large private garden like you step anywhere and no one can see you so I'm really excited for that. Box rooms are fine to put a single bed desk and a wardrobe/drawers.

Conservatory will have to get tiled/insulated. I have never lived with a conservatory before so any suggestions are welcome.

I think it's probably worked out for the best all round OP! And the box rooms are definitely bigger than I was imagining if you can fit desks in. I hope everything goes smoothly from now on 🙂
