Kitchen flooring and splashback areas

Tell me about your kitchen flooring please.

Our builders started today and in about 8 weeks, we will have a huge open space ready for a kitchen to be installed. We've decided on the final layout and units, but I still have no idea what type of flooring to go for. I'm seeing a lot of LTV mentioned on various Facebook pages, but to be honest, I'm not even sure what it is. Is it like Karndean/Amtico or something very different?

We are having underfloor heating put in so anything cold underfoot isn't an issue, so can potentially have tiles. No children or animals in the home to worry about, other than two visiting 12 year olds.

What flooring do you have, and are you pleased with it, or wish you'd gone with something different?

Is the entire floor laid before the kitchen units are placed, or do they put flooring around the units?

We got large cream tiles for flooring and yes they should tile the floor before putting units. Basic colour which mean we could get a very colourful kitchen, walls, tiles etc.
