Can you cover with plants?

AnSolas · 08/09/2023 15:57

You can get black patina for copper.
It creates a chemical reaction and changes the colour of the metal by creating a rust-like reaction the same way a copper roof turns green over time. Your local plumbers metchant may have some brands

I would just paint it, like your friend suggests.

You can get clip on pipe covers in various colours, but normally only for short lengths, such as radiator tails.

I can’t even see it!

rileynexttime · 08/09/2023 19:55

@AnSolas that's interesting , thank you !!
@Rollercoaster1920 that would be a bit tricky for various reasons
@MaybeSmaller I'm not good at painting and I wouldn't want to have to do it regularly.
@Polis that was a picture I posted to give an idea of the situation. Sorry a bit confusing
.@minipie that looks like a possibility

We have an external gas pipe that is wrapped in some kind of waxed webbing type material.

Make sure you do not disguise it as a gas supply.

KnickerlessParsons · 09/09/2023 09:59

If we're meant to be able to see the pipes in that photo, well I can't!

rileynexttime · 09/09/2023 13:41

@KnickerlessParsons and anyone else playing where's Wally - I'm so sorry .
I was googling trying to find the word for the black "skirting board " at the bottom of the wall at the front of the house. Plinth came up but I thought the picture demonstrated it better . But I should have explained that it wasn't a picture of the pipes .Blush
