Red ash concerns

Morning all, I was just wondering if anyone was more clued up on red ash than myself! We’ve had a survey carried out on a property we are purchasing. No signs of red ash but as it was built when red ash was used (1940-1970) the house was built in 1967 the surveyor is quite adamant we need a red ash test, this house is one of 6 houses built at the time. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but it was my understanding the majority of houses built on red ash were those on big/council estates, as there were lots of houses being built at one time so the red ash was a cheap fill in the ground after the war? Anyway I digress, basically is my only option a red ash test to be totally certain? If this is the case, is the test a messy job?

Many thanks

It may be they've seen something leading them to think its there so I'd do it.
