Outdoor sensor light comes on in the sun - how to adjust

Hi,

I have a sensor light at the front, so it comes on if anyone comes near. Is there a way to adjust this as it seems pointless as it's so light outside and wasting electricity and the bulb? Can i adjust it so it lights up in the dark only?

@Loopylooni yes, there should be a light sensor dial on it somewhere along with one that controls how long it is on for. Usually smaller than a 1 pence piece with markings, one will be a sun for the sensor and a clock for the time.
