If the carpet is rose pink, what colour are the walls?

Went carpet shopping today, planned on getting a taupe, grey or oatmeal colour.

Ordered pink. Fell in love with it 🤦. Need to rethink the walls now so.....what colour walls would go with a lovely blush/rose pink carpet?

For my bedroom, meant to add!

I’d go pink everywhere!

I’d go pink everywhere!

I did wonder about that but is it too much?

Could you go very neutral on the walls if you've gone bold on the carpet?

If you think about roses or sweet peas a lovely creamy white would look nice. Not terribly exciting but I do think it would look good. You could bring any other colour you wanted in via the curtains etc.

declutteringmymind · 02/09/2023 21:56

A lighter shade of it.
Or a warm grey

Definitely a neutral though as it will compete with colour.

Purpleavocado · 02/09/2023 21:57

I was also going to say creamy white as well, and gold accents, maybe a tiffany lamp

I actually think it would go lovely with navy blue or emerald green. Even if just on a feature wall.

dreamersdown · 03/09/2023 00:05

Go for the very palest pink - check out Tailor Tack by F&B

BonjourCrisette · 03/09/2023 00:07

Sage green, very pale.

JaninaDuszejko · 03/09/2023 07:15

Either lean into it and have pink walls, woodwork and ceiling (I'd say different lighter pinks that tone for each) but then have somthing like a chair a disruptor colour like a grass green or an electric blue or sunshine yellow.

Or make the pink carpet the feature and colour drench the rest of the room a very light green or baby blue with just a tiny amount of the rose pink elsewhere, e.g. a lampshade or a patterned curtain where there is a tiny bit of the pink.

Hiddenvoice · 03/09/2023 07:20

I’d either make the carpet the main feature and have a neutral but warm creamy colour or I’d have a feature wall of a sage green.

I recently went for a coloured carpet and loved it but ended up changing my bed to have a bigger headboard and made that a feature too as it was very bold in colour.

Yes it's too much. I would go for neutral walls such as cream or warm grey

Noimaginationforaun · 03/09/2023 08:24

Love the idea of a very pale or sage green suggested by other posters!

F&B Elephants Breath is quite a warm grey which would go well with pink. Also, I have mixed Old White quite successfully with pink too. It is slightly green grey - a bit hard to describe - but goes really well.

Yes I agree about Elephant's breath - got it in a couple of rooms and really like it.

If you've ordered a dusky pink, all of the colours you originally considered would go, as would oyster - think grown up ballerina, rather than a three year old Dance Duckling.

HRHTheDuchessOfBotox · 03/09/2023 09:18

What type of pink is it? Neon? Dead Salmon?

I’d go for teals, sage or dirty blue if it’s a muddy pink, or yellow and jewel colours if it’s a cerise/bright pink.

Thighdentitycrisis · 03/09/2023 09:32

I have sage green and pink (not carpet) in my bedroom, I love it

Mamoun · 03/09/2023 16:29

Grey

MaybeanothertimeNotReally · 03/09/2023 17:59

Farrow and Ball Peignoir would go really well with a pink carpet.

I picked up a sampler of a different brand but seems to be very similar colour to this earlier today!

@VintedoreBay Great minds think alike! Let me know how you get on. I looked at F&B Dovetail but it was too grey whilst the Peignoir was softer with hints of pink.

Rose pink, as I said in the thread title
