Hi,
does anyone live in Cranleigh or surrounding area? We are considering moving from London and looking for a slower pace of life. we are
hoping to purchase a detached or semi for around 700-900k price depending if renovation is required.
Are there lots of activities in the area? We don’t need schools or train station. Can anyone give me a little more info on the area. We visited for a day and it seems nice enough.

There has been a lot of housing development in Cranleigh and I do wonder if there are enough services for all the new people. I would also look at Dorking, Reigate and Horsham as they are similar but a bit less sleepy IMO. Guildford has the most facilities like theatres and cinema and connections by rail and road but the most expensive.

Hi I live in Godalming so I’m nearby area to Cranleigh. Moved here 22 years ago to start our family and it’s been good. We visited Cranleigh but the lack of train station put us off (makes it harder for friends and family to visit). However my friend has lived there for over 20 years and likes it. Guildford area is good for shops, schools, theatre, restaurants etc

I'm selling a lovely house in Horsham which is nicer than Cranleigh ..
There isn't much there but Horsham has more and it's easier to get to more places .

Cranleigh and Horsham are quite different. Horsham is a town in Sussex and Cranleigh is a large village in the Surrey Hills. Cranleigh is nearly 50% more expensive than Horsham. You will get a larger house for the money in Horsham but it is a different feel to the Surrey countryside.

Cranleigh has an Arts Centre, pubs, restaurants etc, but you would need to go to Guildford for a decent range of independent restaurants or Horsham for restaurant chains. The surrounding villages, which are lovely, have decent pubs but little else, apart from lovely peaceful countryside.

@youdirtyrat true .. I find Cranleigh a bit meh tbh although I am
Moving out of the area . I think Horsham and in particular where I live is the best of both worlds . Guildford is only 30 mins away and Brighton a bit further the other way so a good central point. As well as being very near 2 mainline station's for Victoria
