We've never had any building work done before, but we've been talking around the subject of extending the kitchen for many years. I never really thought it would happen, so didn't really take it all that seriously or give the practicalities much thought.
However, we now have the finances in place, have had plans passed by the local authority, and a builder who can start on 13th September.
It's all happened really quickly, and now I'm fretting - are we meant to have some kind of contract between us and the builder? If so, who is responsible for drawing this up? What should it cover?
My husband thinks that the Schedule of Works that the builder has given him is enough, but I'm thinking we should have something more robust than that.
Any ideas?
