We are renovating a property (7 beds) which has been empty for more than 2 years.
I am aware of the reduction in VAT rate for this if your contractor is also VAT registered and agrees to offer it.
We are working with a non VAT registered builder and sourcing all materials ourselves. Would it be worth starting a company, registering for VAT and buying materials at the reduced rate through this? Is this even allowed?
I am interested to know what others in this situation has done.
