Can anyone recommend a blinds company they’ve used?…

That come round, measure up and install? It’s for a difficult conservatory - we have installed our own blinds around the house but this need a professional!

thanks

I could... but it would totally depend where in the country you live as its a local firm. From reading around and asking others it seemed the advice was to stay away from sales driven national companies such as Hilary's and go for a local company.

Sorry, absolutely no help to you unless you live in West Lancs, but maybe get a couple of local companies in for a quote?

Gettingonabitnow · 01/09/2023 20:50

Thanks. Oh god - I’ve actually booked Hilary’s in for a quote!

See if any local fitters do Hillarys -one near us fitted blinds last Yr for half the price & told me lots of ex hillarys fitters do this, they for blinds at cost price hence the cheaper cost. He had the full catalogue to pick from.

We have used John Lewis several times and they've been great.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 01/09/2023 21:06

We’ve used Blinds2Go and they have been brilliant. I even know an interior designer who has bought blinds from them.

Tarantella6 · 01/09/2023 21:09

My colleague used John Lewis and was very happy. We used a local firm (Surrey/Hants border if that is any use)

DoThePropeller · 01/09/2023 21:52

Second blinds2go, used them loads. You measure up yourself but it’s dead easy and you can spend a tenner for “fit” insurance if you’re worried.

Another vote for Blinds2go. I've also had curtains from them. Easy to order and great service.

somewhereovertherain · 01/09/2023 23:06

we used a local guy good price and awesome service.

got a price from Hillary’s 😂😂😂😂 significant difference and locally not a good reputation

Gettingonabitnow · 02/09/2023 07:48

Thanks everyone. I hadn’t even thought of John Lewis!

The venetian blinds we got from John Lewis are the same manufacturer as Blinds 2 Go, the latter is way cheaper.

House4DS · 02/09/2023 20:25

@Gettingonabitnow whereabouts are you? Great local company did mine.

BanditsOnTheHorizon · 02/09/2023 20:50

Another vote for Blinds2Go

anoldcharter · 02/09/2023 23:32

Just to add blinds2go are great and I've used them for rest of house. There was about £50 difference between them and the local firm we have gone with, which for fitting a full conservatory (as opposed to us doing it ourselves) I thought was worth every penny 😁

Gettingonabitnow · 03/09/2023 12:41

Thanks everyone. We are north west. I’ve used blinds 2 go in the past for one off windows where we’ve measured up and got a local handyman to fit. But the conservatory is a really awkward shape with a plastic frame, so admittedly bit nervous about blinds 2 go on this one…

Ah didn’t see this - they fit too?!

I've used homefair blinds before and can recommend, really reasonably priced. I'm in south Manchester.

goingtotown · 04/09/2023 22:37

Blinds to go are good quality but I don't like the ugly brackets on the roller blinds

Nannyfannybanny · 04/09/2023 22:41

We used Blinds2Go. Hillary's are dreadful. There's another site in here, complaining about them. They are very expensive, and we had a salesman out,he measured for a small window in our spare room,it hinges out from the top. He fitted the blind, and you couldn't then open the window. Manager came out, said we should never have been sold this design.we bought one off the peg in the end.

Yummymummy3465 · 06/02/2025 10:05

Beware of blinds2go. They put my money to sleep for a whole month and finally got round to informing me that my order had been lost in transit, a likely story. It's strange because the general view online seems to be positive, just goes to show

chojoko · 06/02/2025 10:28

Whatever you do, don't use blindsdirect.co.uk without looking at their online reviews. Terrible blinds, non existent customer services.

Bluevelvetsofa · 06/02/2025 11:50

We’ve used Blinds2go. We’ve also used a small local firm, which is no use to you OP, because we’re on the south coast.
