Rude local carpet store/where near to go now?

Really annoyed at the rude local carpet shop. Just unpleasant and unhelpful.

Where is best to go. I could perhaps have a cut off as the room is only 2.67m x 3.31m.

I just want a polypropylene carpet, dark or mid grey - perhaps fleck.

I've been advised to get cloud nine underlay at least 10 MM thick.

Any help would be great

You'll just have to shop around- are there no others close to you?

BafflingAndBothersome · 02/09/2023 20:22

Is here a carpet right near you? They often have roll ends they sell.

I was in a carpet right today. Lots of good roll ends in the shop.

Any local tradesmen that supply & fit? Usually cheaper too

stowawaystar · 03/09/2023 10:34

Thanks everyone.

I went to Tapi and the salesman said roll ends would be no cheaper for me!

£403 for a cheap carpet and underlay and pull up but not take away laminate, for a small bedroom!

Is that about right? Seems so much.

I looked at verified Tapi reviews and they were terrible!

I think a local tradesman would be better and going in a big store to ask for roll ends.

Laminate is easy to take up yourself - I did in my kitchen and took to local tip. That may but some of the cost. I paid £300-£350 ish for not that big rooms 8 years ago so it's probably not an in reasonable price.

Agree with PP - avoid Tapi

The local fitter I use has connections to suppliers and was able to get us ends of rolls of really high end stuff for cheap. I’d find a decent fitter and ask them.
