Why did the estate agent do this?

I went to see a property yesterday and a couple of hours beofre viewing the agent rang to see if i was still attending. I said I was . A few hours later , just before arriving, I see the agent has removed the listing? I ring the agent and she says “oh it’s a website error, happens all the time, the property is available and you can see it as many times as you need “.
just didn’t sit right with me for some reason. Are there any estate agents out there or anyone who would know why they would do this? Just found it all a bit odd. I did notice the listing described house as in immaculate order, but it wasn’t at all so that was also odd.

Is this your first time buying?

No reason to not believe the website error, or they're amending the listing.

And trust me, an estate agent's view of 'immaculate' is very, very low.

Once viewed a house with skirting hanging off, carpet stains and stank of dog described as immaculate.

'In need of modernisation' means money pit, and 'project' means it needs demolishing.

Good advice 😂 so true, EA must be either high or wearing rose tinted specs when they write up property details.

Take everything they say with a bucket of salt and yes I'm not sure they know what immaculate means!!

The text in the brochure is rarely for the benefit of informing the buyer, and more for flattering the vendor.

I wouldn't be thinking too much about it. Perhaps they want to list it with new price, but don't want the original ad to show "reduced". Or re-publish it with new photos.

EA's play silly buggers with RM all the time, and RM entertains them.

If you use Chrome and the Property Log extension then you'll see all the shenanigans that EA's get up to on RM. They (the bad ones) are constantly increasing and reducing the price in order to force the priority of the property listing and/or give a misleading impression of a recent "reduction".

Is there a reason why the property log can only be viewed on chrome?
is there any other way to view it?
thanks!

My latest find is changing monthly rent to weekly but not reducing it so it appears like a new listing.

Grrr.

Probably a technical reason, but Chrome only
