Hello all
I'm mid-way through a stressful renovation, and one of the things that calms me down a little is reminding myself that I don't really believe in the concept of a forever home, so if it all goes pear-shaped I can move at some point in the future. So of course I spend a lot of time on Rightmove daydreaming :)
I've always had a strong sense that one day I'll move to a different part of the UK - I'm on the south coast, where I have lived for most of my life, and now living alone. But finding the right location means narrowing down my options so that I can do more research when I'm less busy and able to explore a few places.
My criteria...
- Not a large city, but not totally rural either
- Suitable for non-drivers, with decent rail connections nearby
- Ideally on or fairly near to a coast
- Beautiful countryside easily accessible and great views
- Property prices significantly cheaper than most of the SE
- Nice architecture / interesting history
- Good local shops, restaurants and some culture
Has anyone moved to a place that is completely new to you and felt that you made a great choice?
Any recommendations that fit my criteria (or most of them)?
