I'm getting into the design of my garden, which is at the moment a large concrete yard. It's been quite difficult to formulate what would actually suit us, but one of the things that I keep coming back to is gravel/flooring that can comfortably be walked on barefoot. So there would be a walkway or path out of the house with tiles (?) or slabs of something, but in between and around that would be some sort of stone acting as ground cover. If you've done similar - what kind of things feel pleasant to walk on? I don't want to inadvertently recreate Brighton beach here!
