Argh.

Just done one coat of this (after muuuch deliberation) in our living room and I’m not sure.
Has anyone any photos of theirs to reassure me/carry on please?

Our sofa is navy blue (not yet arrived). Room is south facing. If anyone also has either of these things...

much appreciated!

I recently painted our (south facing) bedroom Egyptian Cotton and thought I'd made a terrible mistake after the first coat - it looked dingy and dark and awful. I loved it once the second coat was on and it was nice and even with the bedroom tidy again. Bedding is white and eau de nil, curtains and headboard ivory, quite dark wooden furniture. I adore how it looks and will probably use it somewhere in our new house too - was painting to sell hence no photos in case it's outing.

Thank you @bloodyfootprint! I ploughed on and do prefer it after second coat! Hopefully look nicer still with our new furniture and carpet in 🤞🏻

I love it and i agree it looks nice with white. I have it throughout the house and it does look different in different lights, but it's such a useful base for any colour i bring in with furniture and bedding, pictures, etc., i will say there is, or was a big difference between the tub i bought from B&Q and the one mixed at ... whatever that paint store is called. B&Q's had a pink base to it which i only discovered when doing touch ups.

Yes, I have Dulux Egyptian Cotton in a property in both downstairs reception rooms and hallway. I have a dado rail in one room and the hallway with the EC below the dado and white above. The other reception room is all EC. Furnishings are mainly grey with bright colourful accents. Floor is an oak laminate with grey/ cream rugs.
Like you OP I was not keen on the EG to begin with - it just looked all too "beige" (and a bit greenish in some lights) but I now absolutely love it. I think it looks fresh and modern.
I have Natural Calico in other rooms which is much more yellow in tone. I wanted something different to standard Magnolia and EC was a good choice in my opinion.

Ah thank you both! I definitely see green tinges but I quite like that. interesting what you say about b&q tub - that’s where we got ours from. Sofa’s are navy and have read it works well with pops of colour.
ours is the same with EC below picture rail and white above!

B&Q may have sorted out the discrepancy, or it could have been a batch problem, i just remember the disappointment and having to go over all the touch ups again! My house has lots of bold colour and it is a useful backdrop.
