Proof of funds regarding a house sale

We have agreed an offer but are still waiting for proof of funds. Phone call to EA from buyer on Tuesday saying they will sort it as soon as possible but still nothing. It is a company that is buying our house. Not one off the net x

Give them a deadline as procrastination suggests they’re getting finance sorted now

Thank you for your response. I really do hope this is the case. They have not at any point suggested they do not want the property. I just think if they did not they would not have put an offer in and just pulled out. I really do hope I am right x

I would not have thought that a company cash buyer would have gone to an EA unless they were serious. They have sent everything over except the POF. What are your thoughts ?

If it is a normal/non business buyer I think people just print out copies of their investments with info removed (account number etc).

There are I think more formal ways of getting proof of funds, but these probably take more time - which may be what is happening in this case.

Anyway, I would not get too excited about a potential sale yet. There is a whole load of stuff that can go wrong between offer and exchange/completion, and pinning all your hopes on something definitely going through at this stage is likely to lead to a lot of disappointment if the sale fails in the future.

I don't know anything about your company, but bear in mind a lot of business purchasers have an aggressive strategy to renegotiate just before exchange. So worth remembering that.
