I enjoy these posts as they help me understand market perception of properties I'd be considering purchasing, hope they are also fun for you :)
For those not familiar with the area, this is a lovely residential area in SW London/Surrey border with great schools, transport, amenities, safe, near a lovely river walk etc. And because of this, very expensive :)

What do you think of this? https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/136368815#/?channel=RES_BUY

I am not sure about being lower ground due to limited light and also, for some reasons it feels less safe? Location is as good as it gets though and I like the flat too.

Well you never know, it's been on a while, they might take an offer but if you're not ready to buy then maybe not. Worth a view to rule it out? Good luck 😊

It's a great area. Nice quietish square but within a couple of minutes of the main drag, the station, and the river. Pubs, restaurants etc. all nearby.

Not perfect layout, but still livable. Definitely get a damp survey, and check the drainage situation, but it doesn't look like it should be an issue there.

I lived in a basement flat in a different area of London, much more basementy than this one. Lack of natural light was not a problem for me. It did get a bit damp inside, but I simply bought a dehumidifier which I ran most of the day and everything was perfectly dry. In fact, it helped dry my washing quicker as well!

Looks like a decent flat to me.

@Wanderergirl yes that's a private garden and there are properties who have that, even in London

Some do yes, but majority only has direct access to the garden, which is shared. And yes, you can find them, still doesn’t make it better, because you live in the basement. You can call it, garden, lower level, whatever you like. It is still a basement.
