Leasehold Property - Landlord Concerns

Mercurial123 · 19/08/2023 16:41

I've just received the lease details on a flat I've made an offer on.

I've looked on Companies House to find the landlords are late submitting accounts and confirmation statement.

The company status is "active proposal to strike off suspended".

3/4 of the board resigned

Trading under two different companies in the last 10 years, though maybe that's not unusual. Their student accommodation branch is in administration.

Would this put you off? TIA.

Yes, it would put me off.

I had problems in the past with a crap freeholder. It was endless aggravation. We ended up taking them to tribunal. Walk away now.

If they are too crap to even manage the most basic admin of submitting accounts to Companies House, they are not going to be stellar with their responsibilities as freeholders.

Thank you. I'm going to withdraw my offer. There's too many red flags.
