Hampton in Arden - Solihull?

Hi 👋 We are relocating to the Solihull area. Haven’t sold our house in St Albans yet but have started looking at houses in Solihull on Rightmove. What is Hampton in Arden like? I’ve seen a few houses that tick all the boxes there, but am a bit worried about noise from the planes and soon HS2. Anyone have experience living there? Many thanks!

I don't live there but often drive through! It's a great location and always looks very nice. Very well connected to Birmingham (and Solihull). I'm not sure it will be that affected by HS2 - I can't remember quite how close it goes. Plane noise I can't help you with, as I'm always in the car.

Have you looked at Knowle/Dorridge/Bentley Heath? All nice areas on the edge of Solihull.

I used to live in Knowle and loved it! It’s got good access to Solihull yet is quieter with a great secondary school. I was not aware of noise from planes although I guess that might have changed in last 10 years.

Hampton in Arden is also nice and is smaller than Knowle/ Dorridge and further from city attractions in Birmingham. I’m not sure of the schools around there. I think it has more noise from the airport.

Best bet is to go and visit for a weekend and drive around the area.

Hi Amy , did you end up moving to Solihull area ? We are looking into potentially moving to knowle/ Solihull and like you have not yet sold our home in London but looking to get an idea from others. I’d be interested in hearing if you made the move to Hampton in Arden or surrounding area and what your thoughts are- thanks
