Clearly still being built?

lovewoola · 13/08/2023 16:45

😆

XVGN · 13/08/2023 17:07

Haha. I visited a new build estate yesterday. It crystallised in my mind that I wouldn't want to move to one. The homes were all packed in tight and the estate was soulless. I could see past one house and their garden overlooked another 10 (and vice-versa). Truly horrible. I've had two new build homes in the past and they weren't like that.

Clearly still being built?

No, is it really? 😂

OP posts:
GenieGenealogy · 13/08/2023 17:35

Have you no imagination? Can you not visualise that it would look entirely different with the barriers removed, the landscaping done etc etc?

HotPringles · 13/08/2023 17:54

There is a lot if things to visualise there.incl the whole of the inside 😂😂

Wibbleswombat · 13/08/2023 17:56

It's had a massive price drop over time, I can see why.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 13/08/2023 18:04

Weird floor plan, even once you get through the fence! Why on Earth have they put the downstairs loo there? If they had put it on the other side, they could have had a kitchen that opened on to living room. It's such an outdated layout to have the kitchen isolated like that, especially in a house that's presumably aimed at families.

Justlovedogs · 13/08/2023 18:10

I caught the humour, OP, even if others didn't!
Asking the builder to remove the keep out sign for the main photo would have been a start, maybe? 😂

Sorry, can’t resist.

Most welcoming house for sale ever?
greenspaces4peace · 13/08/2023 18:16

meanwhile i have zero idea what a shared ownership is? a room and others own the home? complete strangers own shares of the home? like holiday villa's where a quarter share gives you x many weeks a year to live in it?
or homes on a strata development where you pay maintenance fees monthly?
confused but not from the uk.

GenieGenealogy · 13/08/2023 18:22

Shared ownership - you own a percentage of the property (say 50%) and the rest is owned by a housing association and you pay rent to them. It's entirely your property and a way of getting onto the property ladder for those on lower incomes living in expensive areas.

Thank goodness for those of you who did get the joke 🤣 for those who didn't... Do you think maybe photographing the house from an angle that didn't include the massive "keep out" sign quite so prominently might have been a good idea?

That's a very common place for the downstairs loo, what's so odd about it?

Dymaxion · 13/08/2023 19:46

It seems expensive for a 40% share, if you add up the mortgage and the ground rent, rent and service charge it works out at £1500 a month.

Well if they'd put the loo the other side they could have had a bigger kitchen or living room. I've lived in houses with both layouts and the loo under the stairs option was much better.

So true and I say that as someone who lives in a new build house with 15 gardens in a courtyard. It’s grim and no I’m not here by choice!

Clearly still being built?

Um, yes! Clearly! 🙄

And the 'Keep Out' sign definitely makes this house extra appealing, don't you think?! 🤪
