Smile Kitchens vs DIY Kitchens

Does anyone have any experience with Smile Kitchens?

Their kitchen design service was amazing. The lady thought of a design our architect hadn't that creates a sociable breakfast bar. Even the builder commented on it and it was clear he thought it was better than the original plan.

Anyway, the problem is that we're on a very tight budget. They're pretty reasonable but DIY Kitchens comes in cheaper as standard. Then we'll need to add the custom colour premium of 10% on top, whereas with DIY Kitchens you don't need to. And DIY Kitchens are faster. I kind of want it done ASAP.

But I like the process of how Smile deals with the fitter. My builder's fitted Smile too and very happy with them.

And I also feel like their design was so good that they've kind of earned our business!

They're new though and lots of reviews are about the design process instead.

So does anyone have any experience with them? What's the long-term quality like?

They price-match but I'm not sure we can price-match to DIY. I suppose we can only ask!

weve got a DIY kitchen and very happy with it and had no guilt getting wickes to do the plan and got a qoute from them they were £2000 more expensive than DIY for a kitchen that wasnt as good sorry smile wasnt on our radar so cant help with that

We just had a DIY kitchen fitted. It's bloody marvellous! We went to wickes originally (did have a wickes kitchen fitted in our old house) but they quoted £8000 over our budget (I mean whats the point in asking a budget if you are just going to ignore it anyway!) We reinterpreted wickes design (it was pretty standard for our shaped kitchen anyway!) and designed it ourselves on DIY kitchens. Our fitter checked the design and our measurements etc., to make sure everything was correct. The kitchen is great quality and I can recommend!

If Smile Kitchens can't match DIY Kitchens, I'd just take the Smile plans and use DIY Kitchens to buy the units.

Would Smile ask for a fee for the design if you don't go through with purchasing the kitchen? Even if they did ask for a design fee it would be worth every penny.

Did you go ahead with Smile? I’m wondering what they are like.

DIY kitchens are known to be fantastic and recommended. I would go there over Howdens or Wrens etc...

I have never even heard of Smile before though.
