Landlord 'accidentally' knocked door

Had a surprise visit from our landlord who said she was here for an inspection. I told her I wasn't expecting her, and she insisted I had agreed to it. Then I said alright come on in then, she realised she had come to do the inspection for the downstairs flat (she owns that too).

This happened the day before our fixed term tenancy was about to expire. So part of me thinks that she wanted to see if we had just simply moved out. This is because we hadn't yet agreed a new tenancy. Do you think honest mistake?

I wouldn't have let her in. She's required to give 24 hours notice.

Also, you don't have to agree a new tenancy. If your fixed term has come to an end, you are now on a periodic tenancy.

Does it really matter?

You could have said 'no' if you'd wanted to.

do you want another fixed period or you happy on a rolling contract?

Why does it matter?

Why does it matter?

It 'matters' because the OP doesn't want unwanted, unsolicited visits from people in HER HOME. The landlord had fuck-all right to demand entry.
