Shock

Apparently the gravestones can be relocated if required, but it doesn't mention if the occupants will be relocated...

TokyoSushi · 09/08/2023 12:12

Oh my. But also why would you put the sofa like that in front of the TV?!

TakeMe2Insanity · 09/08/2023 12:14

Well it does say it was the old chapel!

They won't be.

I'm torn as to what I'd do regarding gardening. I'd keep the stones I think. Maybe put planters in?
Wouldn't feel able to go digging....

WelcomingGnome · 09/08/2023 12:15

The sofa arrangement is the weirdest thing about it.

Limth · 09/08/2023 12:16

I love the garden!

But what a horrible conversion - looks like a really bland new-build inside. What a shame.

GrimDamnFanjo · 09/08/2023 12:16

Bizarre heating placement too...

Mooserp · 09/08/2023 12:17

Some terrible photos too

OP posts:

Hmm, quite an odd conversion. A bit more work needs doing. The choice of furnishings doesn’t make it easy to visualise living there. Returning to original point, I might feel put off by the Grace stones and that taking them out was somehow wrong even though having them there doesn’t feel right either

SuperiorM · 09/08/2023 12:19

Erm spell check has inserted Grace for grave 😔

KievLoverTwo · 09/08/2023 12:25

Kudos to them for showing it. I saw one recently where they angled out every gravestone in the garden and didn't mention it in the description.

That asking price is a bit steep for something that looks like something that was cobbled together by a group of aliens who once saw three photographs of what human homes look like inside though.

Icycloud · 09/08/2023 12:25

No chance

senua · 09/08/2023 12:26

Why on earth have they got a mix of reception rooms and bedrooms on both floors? Weird.

Dibblydoodahdah · 09/08/2023 12:29

Why don’t people smooth out their duvets before the photos are taken?!

uhOhOP · 09/08/2023 12:29

"Many characters features" and "must be seen". I'll say! 🤣🤣🤣

HarridanHarvestingHeldaBeans · 09/08/2023 12:31

I could come up with a really lovely planting scheme for the graves and make it tranquil and beautiful. So the graves would bother me far less than the bare metal flue pipe in picture 9.

ReviewingTheSituation · 09/08/2023 12:35

What an odd conversion. They've nodded to it on the inside with pews and a sign on the wall, and clearly there is a graveyard in the garden, but from the outside (and largely inside) you'd have no idea whatsoever that it was ever a chapel.

tattygrl · 09/08/2023 12:41

Oh I absolutely adore this!

I agree, some of the conversion could be better, but overall I actually find it quite characterful and charming. Definitely unusual, and definitely retains specific features of the old chapel.

Everyone will be different on this, but it wouldn't bother me at all that there were graves in the garden. As long as there was a part of the garden that was grave-free that you could just enjoy and not be prompted to ponder mortality and death 😂. I think I'd enjoy being custodian of those old resting places.

What an interesting and charming property, thanks for sharing this!

TheFlis12345 · 09/08/2023 12:42

Is that a confessional in the corner of the sitting room?!

You beat me to it! 😂

PollyAmour · 09/08/2023 12:48

Oh my. I couldn't live easily in a house with dead people in the garden.

Conkerqueen · 09/08/2023 12:51

Dead nice

Busubaba · 09/08/2023 12:56

I have grave concerns about buying that property.

Needs more shrubs, flower beds and possibly some trees.

It looks odd because it is just lawn. Old graveyards are normally overgrown.
