Right, I am NOT a woo person.
I rarely have vibes/strong feelings etc, if I'm honest I'm not really a great judge of character often.

And I'm irritatingly positive about homes and property, I always appreciate what can be done.

The second I clicked on that link (didn't read the thread prior) I felt a bit strange, like I couldn't wait to click off.

And I genuinely am not someone who believes in that kind of thing but it made me feel really uncomfortable 😳

TenderDandelions · 09/08/2023 13:19

" There is a good sized lawn area with some of the original gravestones, which we understand can be relocated, raised borders and further side patio accessed by french doors from the dining room."

Obvious why the borders are raised!

The "confessional" is the entrance porch, which makes the sofa placement even stranger.

If it wasn't for the (blurred) obviously family photo on the upstairs living room wall, I'd have assumed it was a house share.

The Estate Agents really need to invest in a better camera or photographer though. Half of them are blurry!

Why don’t people smooth out their duvets before the photos are taken?!

The same thought crossed my mind.

I just went back to my old property listings on Zoopla - beautifully smooth! (I must have ironed them for a change prior to the EA coming!) 😂

ohsuzannah · 09/08/2023 13:23

I love it!

ToBeOrNotToBee · 09/08/2023 13:24

Many character features 😂

Dibblydoodahdah · 09/08/2023 13:26

@TenderDandelions glad it’s not just only me 😂

Reugny · 09/08/2023 13:26

@TenderDandelions oh it isn't a house share.

Doggymummar · 09/08/2023 13:29

I would have to have more windows, the whole place looks soulless, pardon the pun

Busubaba · 09/08/2023 14:04

If I lived next door, I would be tempted to play 'Thriller' very loudly when the new occupants move in and go into the garden for the first time!

catscatscurrantscurrants · 09/08/2023 14:06

The gravestones outside wouldn't bother me. The randomness inside would.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 09/08/2023 14:16

Nope!

ReviewingTheSituation · 09/08/2023 14:27

I can't see any 'original' or authentic features apart from the pews and the entrance porch (which definitely isn't a confessional - it's a chapel, not a Catholic church, so there wouldn't have been a confessional).

JusthereforXmas · 09/08/2023 15:27

I think my worry would be that people have access to visit graves and I wouldn't like families trapsing through my garden.

Other than that the 'death' stuff doesn't bother me.

Reugny · 09/08/2023 15:29

@JusthereforXmas a PP said the graves stones but not the bodies can be removed.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 09/08/2023 15:35

The weird position of the wood burner and flue would be enough to put me off along with the positioning of the settee. Clearly you would struggle with layout of furniture.
The garden doesn’t bother me at all but I strongly dislike the interior.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/08/2023 15:49

The graves wouldn't bother me at all but that sofa facing the telly is making my eye twitch.

JusthereforXmas · 09/08/2023 15:55

Reugny · 09/08/2023 15:29

@JusthereforXmas a PP said the graves stones but not the bodies can be removed.

They must be over 100 years old but that doesn't change the fact that there is usually some level of right of public access.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 09/08/2023 16:02

At least they haven’t made the font into the bathtub

TerfTalking · 09/08/2023 16:33

I don’t mind the gravestones and I think a creative person could incorporate them into the garden. What I don’t like are the two more modern graves on the left of the picture, all they need is one of those black ceramic pots, some coloured shingle and a few carnations. That would definitely need a patio over the top.

TerfTalking · 09/08/2023 16:34

Also not sure about what looks like an alter in the room with a pew???

BronwenFrideswide · 09/08/2023 16:37

When you said interesting garden @Mooserp that is NOT what I was expecting😮

Angelswehaveheardonhigh · 09/08/2023 16:41

I would love to live in a converted chapel but wow, what a strange conversion. It's like it's got a massive identity crisis. It has been rendered to within an inch of its life, removing any of its chapel'ness but they've kept a few pews inside and of course the gravestones.

I'd love to have seen what it was like before it was converted. Shame that it's been done so badly.

Just as an aside, would anyone here consider actually keeping the stones?

BronwenFrideswide · 09/08/2023 16:43

Agree with others about the awful way it has been converted. However, at least the neighbours in the garden will be quiet.

I would have no problem living somewhere with a cemetery or churchyard behind the property but not overly keen on having said graves in my actual garden, must be a bugger to mow round them.

Dahliasrule · 09/08/2023 16:45

Perfect for a Goth.

Friggingfrog · 09/08/2023 16:49

The sofa placement is really odd. It’s like one is the Telly Sofa and the other is just a random spare.

its not for me. I couldn’t live in a garden full of grave stones. And I would be too scared to remove the stones in case the ghosts came for me
