What's the hold up?

My solicitors have got all the money and have been paid, they have got all the paperwork, but won't discuss exchange and completion.

Is this normal? I feel like I need to go down to their offices and make a fuss!

What do they say they are waiting on?

Nothing! I've asked several times and they skirt the issue. I'm cynical and suspect they're trying to gain interest while the funds sit in their account. If I don't get a response by lunch time I'm going to start making suggestions about complaining to 3rd parties.

Struggling to understand how they’ve been paid if their work isn’t complete yet. Do you mean you have paid them money ‘on account’ to cover off disbursements (search fees, etc.)?

In any case, ask to speak to a partner - not the person who has been handling your conveyancing. Good luck. This is all so stressful anyway, it’s awful to have to deal with their incompetence too.
