We have recently moved and the hall has a dado wallpaper which I don’t hate and have painted to bring in some brightness. We are most likely blocking up a door from the hall and would ideally like to continue the paper.

I don’t know what to start searching for.

Can anyone can point me in the right direction to see if it still exists?

Sorry the lighting is atrocious

thanks

Have you checked any sheds or the attic incase previous owners kept any ?
Or if you have contact details maybe ask previous owners if they remember ?

bamboonights · 06/08/2023 21:37

Sorry can't give a definitive answer but it looks like a type of anaglypta wallpaper which is thick and can be painted. I love the pattern.

Seaitoverthere · 06/08/2023 21:48

I agree look at anaglypta and also lincrusta.

Take a screenshot on your phone and run it through Google lens for a shopping search. I can't see an exact match but there are similar versions.

I’ll take a better photo tomorrow and try that

Try SuperFresco they might have it

Ifonlyiweretaller · 06/08/2023 22:38

I'd say that's Lincrusta...

Jellybean23 · 06/08/2023 22:51

It looks like Lincrusta dado panels to me but a discontinued pattern. Hellish expensive. £300 per roll

Sewaccidentprone · 06/08/2023 23:24

Could be Lincrusta, but that tends to have a much greater relief.

it appears to be Anaglypta, but they don’t currently have that design in their range atm. The Anaglypta website says they’ve loads of discontinued patters though.

I'm not a wallpaper expert, but I do enjoy research and anything to do with design and history.

hopefully a Google picture search with a good photo will be able to bring up a match for you.

I love it.

Would it not be an option to just lock the door and not use it? Rather than actually taking it out / blocking it up?

Sewaccidentprone · 07/08/2023 21:53

I’ve done an image search using Google images.

https://lincrusta.com/restoration/ this may be a possible solution?

You could put shelves and plants across the the door and just plaster the other side.
It looks to be a discontinued Anaglypta.

BarrelOfOtters · 08/08/2023 15:06

It's lincrusta.

Royalsingingseal · 08/08/2023 19:15

Thanks everyone. I think I’ve come to a dead end. The door I’m blocking up is having built in units behind it so leaving it as a door is not an option unless I leave it as a door to nowhere.

How likely is it that I can remove a panel and re paste it. There’s another area that I’m moving a door so the paper will need to be taken off. Long shot and probably not an option but….

Yeah just ignore that last comment. Stupid idea. 😂

Is it just to the dado rail? Could you get the closest match you can find, then put a shoe cabinet/slim sideboard or something there to cover it?
