In need of inspiration! I currently have Dulux Mellow Mocha on the walls. Don't love it as it looks pinky/purple in certain lights.

What can you recommend me? Super bonus points if you're kind enough to share a pic

Was a pale grey before, Wickes Nickel i think it was

MintJulia · 05/08/2023 18:40

At the moment it 's daffodil white with one strong yellow wall, but it has been that colour for eight years and I'm mulling the colour card, trying to decide. I'm definitely ready for a change.

Loafbeginsat60 · 05/08/2023 18:45

It's white with a grey concrete polished floor and arty black and white pictures of us and our life

londonmummy1966 · 05/08/2023 18:51

Farrowand Ball Dix Blue - I love it as it goes all the way to the top of the house and changes colour subtley in the different lights so sometimes its a more matt blue and others a greener shade.

As F&B is a bit high maintenance I had the section under the dado rail painted in boring builders white so it is easy to touch up when necessary.

Dix Blue

Richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper.

Dulux Timeless. It's in every room of house except DS's rooms on top floor are in a pale lemon. I use accessories for pops of colour and I change these every 2-3 years.

Pinkitydrinkity · 05/08/2023 18:55

I have Dulux Egyptian Cotton.. I do love it but the formula/colour of the paint has changed since the last time I used it, it’s not quite as nice as before.

Bonfire23 · 05/08/2023 18:58

Dulux chic shadow. It's a ridiculously long hallway that all the rooms come off and no windows
Doing a gothic gallery wall though which will cover a fair bit of it

Dulux Mineral Mist, it's a very tranquil pale blue, really simple and calming. I love it.

TorrentiallyWretched · 05/08/2023 19:07

Elephant breath or whatever that F&B colour is, I hate it tbh but it is a massive hallway, high ceilings plus two stairs and landings as it will cost about £3k to get it painted over.

That durable paint is the answer though, school bags here rather than mucky handprints but easily ruined without being washable.

I had Dulux Ash White originally, which is a nice neutral warmish light grey, but I decided to change it for this wallpaper as there is such a large wall space to fill and I didn't want to put pictures next to the stairs (too narrow). It has a white background and black / beige detailing so seems to bring the whole house together:

...there's also a silver detail which looks nice in artificial light.

Valspar cup o custard on the one main wall with Valspar silver thistle down up the stairs and the rest of the walls

Those with light colours, how do you keep it clean? Mine was soon covered in mucky marks from the kids running up & down the stairs.

Dulux Diamond Matt for Dulux, Johnstone do a durable matt. Trade paint every time. Don't mess about with retail paint. You spend as much and need more coats.

Goatsdorhone · 05/08/2023 20:08

Little Greene Boringdon Green below the dado and Slaked Lime above, albeit colour matched in Johnson's trade paint so it withstands grubby toddler hands! It has made it much brighter than the previous yellow/gold wallpaper that was there.

iwantabreakfastpantry · 05/08/2023 20:32

Little Greene Inox - a pale grey with a hint of blue. Makes the hallway look fresh!

JaninaDuszejko · 05/08/2023 20:46

Surely it depends on the hallway, how bog it is and how much light it gets. MIL has an enormous hallway with a lantern window above the stairwell. We have a hallway with a south facing window on each floor so it's very bright. Lots of people have no natural light in ttheir hallway. How old is the property, does it have features you want to enhance or hide?

JaninaDuszejko · 05/08/2023 20:47

big not bog!

LibertyLily · 05/08/2023 21:16

Ours is Farrow and Ball Inchyra Blue (estate emulsion) with a wall of William Morris Strawberry Thief (indigo colourway) on the landing.

Despite having a very dark hallway, with just one tiny window in our 400+ year old house, we decided to embrace the gloom and colour-drench the space by taking the Inchyra Blue up onto the ceiling and onto the skirting and architraves too.

However, in our next house (we're not even on the market yet, so getting a bit ahead of myself!) I'm planning to have a yellow hall.

Dulux willow green. Not a colour I ever imagined painting a hallway but it's nice and light. Easycare paint so I can wipe it.

Brunonono · 05/08/2023 21:30

Taking a screenshot of this, love the colour

INeedAnotherName · 05/08/2023 21:30

@LibertyLily I love those tiles on your stairs.

Brunonono · 05/08/2023 21:31

That was meant to be in reply to @poorbuthappy.

We have Egyptian cotton at the moment and happy with it - does look different in various lights.
