Cheshire commute to Chester nr Poynton

Hi,
First time on here!
We are looking to move to Cheshire to be nearer to our parents (Poynton and Trafford) but I need to be able to commute to Chester (the business park on south ring road). I'd like to be less than half an hour to Poynton and under 45 minutes to Chester. Would like it be a bit rural if possible. We have 2 kids primary school age.
We have been considering Lymm or High Legh, do people recommend? Are there particular areas to avoid? Is the HS2 going to have a detrimental impact?
Any other locations good to look at?
Thanks x

Both are lovely, Knutsford is nice too. Not really rural but I love Altrincham. There are some lovely properties in south Warrington (Hatton/Stretton/Appleton) or Northwich way too and slightly more rural, although that is pushing you a bit closer to Chester and further from parents

Lymm is lovely, and mostly doable for travel to Chester but the M56 can be a bit erratic. WhT about somewhere like Frodsham? It’s a bit closer to Chester, near Delamere Forest. Or Chester and surrounding villages are lovely

I was going to suggest Frodsham and surrounding villages too. M56 is (usually) pretty good for access to Trafford at the weekend/evenings. It can be an unpleasant weekday commute around the M6 junction area. I think that would be about 30 mins of Poynton too.

Villages around the Northwich or Winsford areas might also work.

to Poynton.

Probably too far out for you, but I live in North Wales by the border and I used to work on that business park. Took me 30 minutes to get there down the A55. North Wales is gorgeous and houses are reasonable to ☺️

I’ve househunted all over cheshire, we settled near Poynton in the end and it’s very easy for access to the m56 via the a555. I wouldn’t want to commute to Chester from this area every day though.

if you have a big budget consider Lymm, Altrincham, Knutsford.

if your budget is more middly I’d look at Northwich and parts of Warrington eg Stockton Heath and Grapenhall- the latter are very convenient for the m56.

I'm in helsby, while it's a lovely village I would just somewhere away from here.

The traffic is always horrific, and we're surrounded by camps and I mean surrounded.

Seriously, avoid frodsham and helsby

I live on the border - one side of the road is England and the other Wales.

Takes 5 mins to drive to the business park.

I love where I live. Handy for the motorway, too.
