This is a new build. What is in the bath, it is like a layer of greenish liquid?

Also the bathroom tiles should be landscape not portrait IMO.

How do you mow the grass under the steps?

There is space for an appliance in the kitchen but no plug socket.

£330,000 for a 2 up 2 down in Somerset, in a tiny village.

I hate this house, it makes me irrationally cross!

I am house hunting in the area, I will not be viewing it!

Water

No idea about the price in terms of local market, but there is nothing wrong with those things you state, they are so minor.

My house had all sorts of weirdness when I bought it!

The views are very appealing.

KievLoverTwo · 03/08/2023 21:10

Teeny tiny bath. House screams flipper.

greenteaandmarshmallows · 03/08/2023 21:12

Those bathroom tiles are annoying

SabrinaThwaite · 03/08/2023 21:14

Water? You fill the bath to load it and then do the mastic seals but can’t see why it would still be there for the agents photos.

GiraffeDoor · 03/08/2023 21:15

What about the telegraph pole in the back garden?!

BotterMon · 03/08/2023 21:15

Agree with b/r tiles. Not bothered by the bath - do you have to fill them up when installed for them to 'bed' down?

The ruddy great telephone pole in the garden would bother me more. Why couldn't they build the fence around it? If the pole/wires need work it'll be a nightmare for engineers to get up there.

I hadn't even spotted that!

Just water I think. And yes to those weird tiles. Wrong way up. Would freak me out every time I went into the bathroom! And the telegraph pole in the back garden? WTAF?! Shock

Yarnorama · 03/08/2023 21:21

I'm wondering how it meets building regs with open stairs and an open kitchen like that.

I don't know anything about building regs. But I hate stairs into a room, I like to shut the door and know I'm alone.

Those bath tiles are putting me right off.

No thank you to the telegraph pole, it's not even right in the corner Shock

Grass under the stairs is no problem. Get a pet rabbit Grin

MissHoollie · 03/08/2023 21:33

Oh those tiles noooo
Also the doors would drive me bonkers..the horizontal panels ..no!

Doggymummar · 03/08/2023 21:37

Is it astro turf? The tiles would have to go

Stratocumulus · 03/08/2023 21:39

That kitchen sink is not best placed for the lovely view at the back. Washing up could be so much more inviting.

The extractor above the hob has sharp corners. Just the right height for a tall cook (like me) to crack our head on!
(My extractor swivels back against the wall. )

That telegraph pole would really annoy me! 🙄

Jacopo · 03/08/2023 21:42

It's not fantastic, but compared to the usual "look at this house!!" posts on MN I think it is relatively bland and ok.

I think it is proper grass.

I didn't look closely at the doors. They are horrible, they look really cheap!

Out stairs are in our living room. Prefer them not to be but we bought off plan and I didn't think of it. Loads are like that.

SabrinaThwaite · 03/08/2023 21:46

I worked on a roads project back in the 90s where it was cheaper to completely redesign the road layout than to try to move the electricity pylon.

I wouldn’t be bothered about a telegraph pole in the garden, although I would get the solicitor to nail down any easements.

DisforDarkChocolate · 03/08/2023 21:49

If feels like it was developed on a bit of a budget. All the things that would make you feel like they had put some thought into making it easy for you to make it a home have been missed.

At least it's not 80% grey which is what too many developers near me are still doing. They make me depressed.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 03/08/2023 21:49

There's nowhere for a dishwasher or tumble drier, which would be a deal breaker for me. And there's a very clear view into the back bedroom via that lovely big window.

I found this really off putting. Even if you just put a washing machine or washer dryer in the space you would have to drill through the work surface to be able to plug it in!

But is your kitchen open plan to your lounge?
