our washing machine that is in our property that was put in two years ago, the outside of the washing machine has started to bubble and rust away, we are moving out. It works still just the rust shows. Will this be taking out of our deposit? I don’t know how to fix it 😢 the washing machine is one of the items covered by landlord on inventory.

The short answer is that would be very unlikely.

Shouldn't be doing that after only 2 years but that's not your problem.

CrystalAmethyst93 · 03/08/2023 18:24

I know I was shocked. That’s quite new for a washing machine :( just so worried they are going to make me foot the bill but I don’t know why the outside rusted at the bottom like it did.

It's likely an internal leak, but if it wasn't fitted by you, again, not a you problem.

If you've never noticed water leaking from it, you couldn't reasonably have alerted the LL before rust set in. I'm imagining a small patch of bubbling here under the paint, not a hole.

Aw thank you so much appreciate your feedback :)

I'd lightly run off rusty bits and buy some appliance paint. It's really good.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 03/08/2023 19:11

I've never had a washer rust. 😳
But it's not like you've done it intentionally so I can't imagine you would have to foot the bill

I am sure it will come under wear and tear/buying a shitty machine.

Did you have an inventory? How detailed?

If you post a pic we might be able to comment further.

Our newish washer has gone a bit rusty. Up near the top so not sure it’s an internal leak. It’s a beko

CrystalAmethyst93 · 03/08/2023 21:14

i think it’s a beko too yeah the bottom corner has gone rusty and the draw part has.
