Corian vs Durasein

Hi everyone,

Has anyone used either of these solid surfaces for kitchen worktops please?

I've used white quartz before and it stained a little... tea, red wine, turmeric etc. But that was a veined white.

Does anyone have either Corian or Durasein and do they like it? I cook a lot with all kinds of ingredients and I'm not very clean. Really prefer something completely unstainable if that's possible?

Any advice or tips really welcome.

I don't like granite. And quartz might be a bit too expensive.

Thanks.

I had corian in a house a few years ago and it was a dream- white with a few grey flecks in- looked great, cleaned really easily and never stained. The outside edge got a few tiny chips after about 8 years but you couldn’t see them.

Thankyou! I'd love white but am a bit put off by quartz in my old home staining. Turmeric and tea were the worst. Does Corian do OK with it? Turmeric in particular? Thanks.

We have Corian and it's non porous so doesn't stain. Still looks great after 5.5 years.

Yes ours had red wine, spices and god knows what else. As @Colinswheels says it’s not porous so nothing soaks in. The most we did was a very weak bleach solution on a tea stain which had been there for a couple of days and it came straight off.

Also have a look at Dekton, which is a ceramic type surface - impossible to stain and can take direct heat from very hot pans without discolouring. We got it when we did our kitchen a couple of years ago and it's great.

Thanks everyone, really reassuring! I really like the look of corian so will go ahead and order some samples.
