Planning Officer visit - today!

Submitted an application a few weeks ago - it’s for an annex in the garden, rather than extension to the house.

Have just received a message saying the the PO wants to visit this afternoon. I’ve never been through this process before. Any hints/tips? I don’t want to put my foot in it with anything!

A bit annoying as, due to our stupid “summer”, the garden looks a bit of a mess at the moment as just haven’t been able to get out there much to tackle anything.

Hi, it is standard procedure. They will just want to have a look and see how the plans line up with the actual street views, how neighbours will see the annex etc. They might not even speak to you about it or ask very basic questions. I wouldn't worry about them visiting.

Planning officer would spend about 5 minutes to take photos of the garden and make notes of the surroundings, then leave. That's it.

Thanks both.

Weird turn of events. Firstly, nobody turned up. Secondly, the company I’m using for the build received planning consent late afternoon. I’ve double checked my council’s planning portal and can see that it’s been granted.
