Usually, I am not inclined to get a leather sofa at all, but I do quite like this one from sofa.com and the price is not crazy as compared to the fabric sofas (in fact, cheaper than a lot of the fabric options.)

Is it wrong? Is it a bad idea? We have a kid and cats. We do have one leather chair that is secondhand that our cat never scratches but you never know . . .

We have our leather 3 piece suite since mid nineties and still going strong. It's more an 1920s vibe and we still love it. No kids or dogs so not sure if that factors into its longevity. It cost just over £2k down from £4k it definitely doesn't owe us anything.
May have to replace when I can't get up from it as it is a tad low 😅

'Those of you with leather sofas that have lasted 10-20 years (or more!), may I ask how much you paid for them?'

Sofa and 2 chairs was £3500 in 1994. I don't think it will ever wear out! I also have a leather sofa that was bought for a playroom in 2004 and that's still going strong too. I think that one fell off the back of a lorry as bought from a very dodgy place on an industrial estate for £400

I'm not veggie but don't like the idea. Also find the texture a bit funny.

We bought a Thomas Lloyd Regent 3 seater sofa in 1999. It is still in fabulous condition and I have never fed the leather. We have moved with it at least 10 times (twice internationally) and it has survived all ordeals.

Ours were from John Lewis in 2010

Its a yay for me, so easy to clean. I do keep DCat off it though, he likes to sit on my lap instead.
