Earlestown - Newton-le-willows - HELP

We have fallen into the trap of putting a holding deposit down on a rental in Newton-le-willows as advertised by rightmove but I have just realised it actually falls in a new build estate just left of Earlestown station and I am now hearing Earlestown is unsafe. Due to move in Aug and will be with my 2 month old whilst partner commutes to Manchester. No car. Have we made the biggest mistake of our lives??

I live in St Helens and I've not heard that Earlestown is unsafe. It's definitely not as nice as Newton le Willows though. There is a Tesco and other shops in Earlestown which will be handy if you don't drive.

My friends have just moved to earlestown and are located near the train station. They absolutely love it so far and haven't had any issues. There's loads of handy shops in earlestown as well so it's perfect if you can't drive.

Earlestown is very run down with many shops closed. Newton le Willows is so much better.
