Carpet over laminate underfloor heating

Has anyone done this?
My flat has underfloor heating and laminate floors, less than 20 years old. I don't want to rip Ip laminate but I'll want carpet in the bedrooms. The carpet fitters say I should still get some heat coming through (I only turn on heating when it's very cold) but I'll need to glue carpets down and saw down doors so big commitment!
Would love to hear if anyone has done this and how it went?

Is the underfloor heating electric or a wet system? Either way though to be honest I wouldn't. With the heating turned on, if there is a backing/underlay to the carpet, it could sweat underneath and trap moisture. Could you not go for some large rugs instead in the bedroom?

I wouldn't take the advice of the carpet fitters on this - obviously they have a vested interest in you fitting carpets! If you happen to know the make of the heating system it would be better to ask for advice there.

I'd stick with big rugs instead.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking - they want to make the sale and if the underfloor hearing doesn't work I am stuck with sawn off doors
Electric!
