Biomass boiler - thoughts? Anyone got one?

I’m considering swapping from oil to biomass purely to try to reduce our carbon footprint.
does anyone have one? Or would you be put off buying a house with one?
we are not on mains gas and not considering ground or air source heat pump.
thanks .

How does biomass work? I'm sick of having oil tanks where the minimum order is 500 litres and you're at the mercy of violent price fluctuations with no consumer protection.

Anyway, I posted about oil tanks in a different MN area before, and had a moderate number of replies:

Thank you I’ll have a look
with biomass, you have a store of fuel - wood chip or logs- I guess it’s dependent on your storage space as it’s much cheaper to buy in bulk.

A relative has one. It actually heats three houses and the boiler is in a barn. The boiler bit is on the bottom and the fuel hopper is on the floor above. It’s big.

@Polis Are they happy with it?

Yes, as far as I know. I haven’t heard any moans about it since it was installed. That must be four or five years ago now.

I know a few people who have them. The only issue I am aware of is difficultly finding someone to repair it when it stops working.
