Moving & about to welcome 2nd DC - help needed

Hello,

We're weeks away from welcoming our second DC, and also moving home.

Moving into a new build flat which isn't finished yet, through our HA. Couldn't be more excited. Hoping to be moved by end of August.

Now my question is, I'm about to have a newborn and a very active 15 month old toddler.

What colour is best when choosing carpets & sofa?

Im honestly clueless.

We currently have a dark grey sofa and light carpets and every single thing shows up. They are old, and sofa wouldn't even be worth donating as it's so marked and worn.

Any help is needed as I'm feeling very overwhelmed at the moment!

As much as I hate the current fashion for everything being grey... I'd go with grey.

We went for something called tortoiseshell which was a greyish brown with lots of flecks in. It was brilliant with small kids.

Something with flecks or kind of tweedy looking is best - any colour as long as it’s not too light and not totally plain.
