Bank of Scotland hard search

I needed your advise, I made a Halifax mortgage application yesterday, just saw Bank of Scotland hard search on my credit file. Would anyone advise if they are related and if Halifax uses Bank of Scotland for hard search. I will appreciate your experience on the same.

Halifax and Bank of Scotland merged about 20 years ago.

Yes, but Halifax used do soft search under its name for mortgage but hard search under Bank of Scotland name, hence wondering.

Halifax is a division of BoS, thats why its showing as BoS carrying out the search.
