Is this Mould?

My tenants advised they found a damp patch next to the kitchen door. But I think it's mould? If anyone could advise. TIA

Yes - it's mould. Or Mould - if you prefer.

Could easily be caused by rising damp.

Definitely black mould. Some white vinegar and Ronseal paint will shift this.

Just to add…. I don’t suppose this was hidden with a bin or a box…. And then discovered once moved?

Thank you. I'll get someone to check it out. I doubt tenants would cover it up as it's next to the door.
