Any idea what these pests are in the attic?

Last night we discovered this in a cupboard up in the eaves. I've called Rentokil who asked me to send some photos. We only moved in about 15 months ago so we know this is fairly recent 🙈

Can you tell what those bits are? We once had some sort of droppings in the loft, DH looked at a bit under a microscope - it was bits of insect (compound eye fragments, bits of wing etc) - so bat droppings not rodents, they were using the loft as a summer roost.

Thanks Errol. I've sent some photos to a local pest expert who thinks that the brown stuff is acorn casings and that we have rodents or squirrels. I do know that we have bats in the garden though. It's a very old house so there will be all sorts of nooks and crannies where they could get in 🙈

He's coming out in a couple of days to have a good look and come up with a plan to treat (although if it's bats we are a bit stuffed I guess)

I think he's probably right, that does look more like seed/nut debris.
