Using kitchen cupboards as hallway furniture.

I have a tiny entrance hall… sort of like a porch. It has a recess c.25/30cm on one side. I’d like to create some form of storage in this space. And I’ve had a brainwave.

could I just fit kitchen units onto the wall with a shallow “worktop” or shelf along the top.

I don’t want it to look like I’ve put a kitchen in my porch… but I’m thinking they’d blend in fine… just like a sideboard or fitted cupboard.

I’ve been exploring DIY kitchens to see options for configuration. Will also check out IKEA and any other options you might be able to suggest.

I plan to do it myself. I’m ok with DIY but not an expert. I’m a perfectionist and this will be a project for me - not a quick one weekend job.

If you use wall units they are narrower and you can have them 'floating' so you see more floor.

Look at Plum Living for nice doors for Ikea cabinets.

How deep is the recess?
And what do you want to store?

ive used an IKEA kitchen unit in a bedroom before as the size fitted. But it’s quite expensive way to do it imo.
