Asbestos ceilings

I had found a perfect property only to find that there had been a leak from upstairs and the ceiling had to be removed rather than repaired due to finding asbestos this was all done then was told there were two more ceilings with asbestos in the property which is really concerning does anyone have advice or experience on this I have checked and the council do not intend to remove the other two ceilings and after me turning it down reluctantly it went out again and went to someone else, it has now come back on available as the next person also refused it I would still like to live there but am worried re the ceilings for the future

Do you mean Artex with Chrysotile asbestos (white) or another material with brown/blue asbestos? If it's the first, it's really common and not a big deal to sort out.

It'll be fine as long as you don't eg drill into it. We have asbestos in the ceilings at our Guide Hut. No concerns.

It’s absolutely fine as long as you don’t disturb it, don’t worry.

The only problem is if it does need to be removed/repaired it’s expensive as it has to be done by specialist people. However it sounds like if it’s social housing then the council would be paying for this anyway.

I would take it.

We had artex on our ceilings with asbestos.. they are considered fine asking as they are in good condition. And you don't drill into them.

If not yes they do have to remove it all and replace it with a new ceiling.
Specialist teams to do it and its surprisingly dust free process, they seal everything off and have special hoovers. Removing it safely.
The land lord would be responsible for this.

If it's a dream property I'd go for it!
