I previously posted about feeling worried about buying a crosswall construction house, but I have sat down and I think it ticks a lot of boxes and my offer has been accepted. However I went to view another house yesterday and I have a good feeling about it. I am on my own with 2 children and a dog and of course I want to be okay financially.
How do you deicide between properties?
- End terraced 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, large enclosed garden, crosswall construction, each room needs overhauled, external wall needs replaced and flooring needs done. Near busy road but garden very quiet. Commute of around 15 mins to schools. Scope to add value.
- Mid terraced 3 bedroom, on a council estate, but set back from the flats which are in a bad state and there is rubbish and doors laying around. House felt very calm. Gardens much smaller but very well kept. Near my sons football club and one of my favourite places to walk the dog, has wooded walk right outside front door. Lovely inside. Roof scored a 2 on home report, as did the chimney stack, and some damp detected in a small area. Of course I may not get this house anyway!
Number 2 is cheaper, and I'd like to not sit in a home and feel stressed about money and feel trapped.
We've been through so much, I want things to be as easy as possible for us and I'm not sure if I'm thinking with that side of my brain, instead of long term thinking.
